Do You Have a Workers' Comp Claim?
The Kentucky Workers' Compensation Act provides benefits to employees who have been injured in job-related accidents or who have contracted diseases due to workplace exposure. Many benefit claims are resolved with compromise settlements. If a compromise cannot be reached, an injured worker has a right to seek justice through the courts.
The Kentucky Workers' Compensation Act provides medical and income benefits, and less often vocational retraining, to people who have suffered work-related injuries and certain occupational diseases. An employer has to pay medical expenses that are "reasonable and necessary" for the "cure and relief" of "work-related" injuries. Income benefits generally fall into the basic categories — "temporary total disability," "permanent partial disability" and permanent total disability." Any injury you suffer due to your job should be reported to your employer, so they can open a workers' compensation claim.
